Full-time Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant to the Construction Manager to help oversee construction and restoration projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. This role plays a vital part in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Construction Manager with planning, organizing, and overseeing projects from inception through completion. Monitor and track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Serve as a liaison between the Construction Manager, subcontractors, and clients. Travel to various job sites across NJ and PA as needed. Maintain regular communication with clients and project stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns. Organize and maintain project documentation, including permits, contracts, and schedules. Ensure availability of necessary materials, tools, and labor for job sites. Support on-site project inspections to ensure work meets quality and safety standards. Schedule and coordinate meetings, site visits, and inspections. Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies. Obtain signed Certificates of Completion and Certificates of Satisfaction from clients. Provide daily project updates and narrative reports to clients and internal teams. Identify and document any work that falls outside the contracted scope. Assist in quality control and assurance efforts throughout the project lifecycle. Occasionally help with small construction tasks alongside the Construction Manager.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Proven track record of excellent customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills for measurements and budgeting. Prior experience in restoration or construction is preferred but not required.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday. Significant travel and driving between job sites. Occasional ladder climbing and working at heights. Exposure to various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.). Potentially loud noise levels on active job sites.
