Ames Construction is seeking experienced construction craftspeople for a heavy civil/industrial construction project near Farmington, NM. Positions include heavy equipment operators, truck drivers, carpenters for concrete construction, pipefitters, millwrights and general laborers. Qualifications Experience in heavy civil and/or mining construction preferred Compliance with OSHA, Company and other applicable safety and health requirements Willingness to learn and accept directions from supervisors Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (Heat/Cold) Must possess strong working knowledge, skills and abilities for position sought Ability to work safely and efficiently with tools and equipment including power and non-power tools Communication and interpersonal skills are a must Ability to manage time and multi-task Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs Must have dependable transportation May require use of respirator Must be comfortable working at heights, confined work areas, or various depths (trenches) Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling and/or balancing on a construction site with rough or uneven terrain Periodically lift or move up to 50 pounds Possess tools required for position sought Valid Driver's License may be required Applicants must be at least 18 years old Specific environmental and physical requirements may vary by project type/location or task Exposure to high noise levels, dust, vibration, and outdoor elements should be expected

The Foreman is responsible for managing and coordinating construction crews from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes planning, directing, and overseeing the activities of employees engaged in construction work. This position is classified as "safety-sensitive." Essential Functions- Coordinates daily tasks according to priorities and plans. Makes changes due to weather, materials, and personnel.
- Delegates individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
- Trains, mentors, and supervises employees and contractors
- Provides adequate resources to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
- Emphasizes the safe use of tools, machinery and equipment
- Provides training on safety gear and procedures
- Develops and manages quality standards for sites
- Resolves conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably

- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or related role with proven leadership skills
- A working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and repair of structures
- Possesses the technical skills for interpreting construction methods, technologies, and technical drawings
- Ability to drive projects to completion on time and within budget
- Experience training, mentoring, and supervising workers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey information to others effectively
- Ability to successfully organize, plan, and prioritize work
- Customer service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration, developing a positive relationship
- Time management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on-time Working Conditions

- This project is located in Farmington, NM. Subsequent projects may be nationally based.
- Travel
- This role will be expected to travel to project locations, sometimes nationally
- Construction site environment

Working Conditions Travel:
Required-primary assignments within geographical area of Farmington, NM. Shifts will generally be Monday- Friday, 7:00AM
- 5:00 PM with occasional Saturday's. Pay will be dependent on experience and trade and will range from $24
- 45/hr including benefits.
