DESCRIPTION
The City of Gallup is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Certified Building Official to oversee and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of public safety and community development.
Additional Information:
STARTING HOURLY PAY
$32.55 P/H
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field preferred. Certification as a Building Official from an accredited organization (e.g., ICC). Minimum of 10 years of experience in building inspection, construction management, or a related field. Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Proficiency in computer applications related to building permit processing and inspection. Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites.
