Outside Plant Construction Manager Black Gap Las Cruces, NM Job Details Full-time 3 days ago Qualifications Safe work practices Fleet management Mentoring Telecommunication Underground utilities installation Full Job Description As a Black Gap Utilities Telecom Construction Manager you will oversee outside plant construction for various Telecom companies. The work will be copper and fiber placement, and will include aerial and underground installation. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects, employees as well as managing company vehicles and equipment.
Daily duties:
  • Arrive at the yard and plan out your crews work for the day. Decide which employees and how many go to each job site, and decide who picks up materials from customer yards.
  • Ensure all crew members are at the shop by 7AM each morning, vehicles fully fueled, equipment fueled, auxiliary tanks fueled etc (breakfast already ate, restroom breaks taken care of ect. They are expected to be ready for work at 7 am.
  • Ensure all locates are done Via E-Locates so all management can track tickets. White line all new jobs before placing an 811 ticket.
  • Assign daily tasks and equipment, and ensure compliance throughout the day.
  • Track daily production and report to your manager daily for all jobs.
  • Red line drawings to suite customer needs.
  • Ensure that the crew checks air pressure on company vehicles, checks oil levels in company vehicles and equipment.
Ensure the equipment is greased, hoses checked and when necessary antifreeze is in the tanks and machines.
Additional duties:
  • Maintain due dates for customer orders.
  • Maintain a good relationship with customer Contract Coordinators and Project Managers.
  • Be able to mentor crew, provide solutions for success and help with equipment failure and break down.
  • Maintain the strict quality Standards BGU has in place.
  • Maintain Job site safety, pits properly fenced, coned, etc.
  • Maintain company employee safety, vests worn, jackets and the work is being done correctly and safely.
