Job Description

Construction Services Director Ramah Navajo School Board, Inc. Ramah Navajo School Board, Inc. (RNSB) is seeking an experienced and visionary Construction Services Director to lead major capital construction, facilities development, and infrastructure initiatives supporting our educational and community mission. This executive leadership role oversees all aspects of construction planning, project management, procurement, compliance, budgeting, and facilities development for RNSB projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing complex construction projects within Tribal, BIE/BIA, public sector, or federally funded environments. This position reports directly to the Board of Trustees and plays a critical leadership role in shaping the future growth and sustainability of RNSB facilities and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage major construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion Direct project managers, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and Construction Division staff Oversee project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and compliance requirements Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, scopes of work, and contractor agreements Ensure compliance with Navajo Nation procurement laws, BIE/BIA regulations, TERO requirements, AIA contract standards, and 2 CFR Part 200 Uniform Guidance Coordinate with internal departments, funding agencies, Tribal leadership, and external stakeholders Conduct project inspections and monitor quality control, safety, and regulatory compliance Develop independent cost estimates and maximum feasible pricing for projects Prepare executive reports and presentations for the Board of Trustees and funding agencies Support long-range facilities planning and infrastructure development initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field Seven (7) years of progressive construction or facilities management experience Five (5) years of supervisory or executive leadership experience Experience managing large-scale construction or facilities projects Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and compliance Ability to interpret blueprints, construction plans, specifications, and building codes Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Experience in Tribal, BIE/BIA, or 638 construction environments Commercial General Contractors License within the State of New Mexico, preferred or experience managing licensed contractors.e Why Join RNSB?
