Job Description
Power Plant Construction Manager-Level 3 -Job Description As a Power Plant Construction Manager-Level 3, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction work performed by contractors and vendors at the project site. You will ensure productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance are maintained, while managing scope control, budget oversight, and performance reporting. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage construction activities performed by contractors and vendors. Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on the project. Conduct walk downs of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and approve contractor payment requests. Verify constructability and ensure proper resource allocations. Assess field status and resolve issues as needed. Manage scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, and schedules. Provide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce. Act as a bridge between field operations and customer leadership. Address logistical challenges and resolve conflicts to keep construction activities on track. Survey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment practices, providing coaching and direction as needed. Direct EPC contractors and subcontractors. Familiarize with NYSERDA incentives and complete projects within allocated time frames. Join meetings and report progress. Essential Skills Power plant construction or commissioning experience. Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 11 - 15 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers. Work Environment Work onsite at a power plant, overseeing EPC contractors, ensuring scope and safety compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Avon, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
