What Youll Do As Director of Construction, youll provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and technical direction across active construction projects and field operations. Youll work directly with executive leadership to: Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Operations staff Drive project execution, accountability, and operational performance Ensure projects meet contract requirements, CPM schedule milestones, safety standards, and profitability goals Champion a culture built on teamwork, communication, trust, and continuous improvement Strengthen relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field crews Support the companys long-term growth and operational excellence initiatives This role combines executive leadership with boots-on-the-ground involvement. Youll regularly visit jobsites, engage with crews, participate in safety meetings, and help drive field performance firsthand. What You Bring Were looking for a proven construction leader with: 8+ years of construction management or project management experience 710 years of leadership and team supervision experience Strong knowledge of construction operations, scheduling, contracts, labor management, and project financials Experience leading large, complex construction projects Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills A proactive leadership style with strong business acumen The ability to inspire accountability, collaboration, and high performance Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field Experience with Microsoft Project, Construction Link, Microsoft Office, and other related technologies/software Advanced certifications or industry credentials are a plus Why WM Schultz Construction?
