This position is ideal for a motivated construction professional with experience in estimating, project coordination, subcontractor management, cost control, construction operations, client coordination, who is looking to grow within a dynamic commercial construction and building services organization. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership, project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of construction projects, from preconstruction planning, budgeting, and estimating through project execution and closeout. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction Review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications. Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates and budget forecasts. Develop scopes of work for subcontractors and vendors. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Assist in the preparation of project budgets, bid packages, and competitive tender submissions. Identify scope gaps, constructability issues, risk factors, and value engineering opportunities. Maintain estimating databases, unit pricing, and historical cost information. Support preconstruction services, feasibility reviews, and cost planning efforts. Project Management & Coordination Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple construction projects. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, superintendents, and field personnel. Develop and maintain project schedules, critical path milestones, and progress tracking. Monitor material procurement, lead times, and delivery schedules. Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation. Coordinate and attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action-item logs. Coordinate inspections, quality control activities, punch list completion, and project closeout documentation. Prepare weekly project status reports for ownership and management. Support project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and schedule management initiatives. Administrative & Operational Support Maintain organized project files and documentation. Assist with contract administration, subcontract management, and compliance tracking. Coordinate permits, insurance certificates, DOB filings, safety documentation, and regulatory compliance requirements as required. Support ownership and project managers with special projects, operational initiatives, and process improvements. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, project coordination, project engineering, assistant project management, or construction management. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience preparing quantity takeoffs, scopes of work, and detailed construction estimates. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment. Understanding of project scheduling, procurement, cost management, and construction documentation processes. Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial construction, mechanical/HVAC construction, building infrastructure, tenant improvements, or capital improvement projects. Familiarity with New York City construction practices, permitting, building codes, and DOB requirements. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Sage, or similar construction management and estimating software platforms. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary of $80,000 - $100,000, based on experience.
