Job is based out of Vestal, New York Join Vestal Asphalt Inc., a leader in pavement preservation and roadway construction, as a Superintendent / Project Foreman. We are seeking an experienced heavy highway construction professional to oversee projects from planning through completion. This position plays a critical role in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while leading crews, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies. Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience, leadership abilities, and demonstrated success managing construction projects. Position Responsibilities Lead and direct medium- to large-sized construction crews to ensure safe, productive, and efficient project execution. Oversee projects from pre-construction planning through final completion, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives. Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation plans, and production goals. Coordinate the procurement and scheduling of materials, equipment, workforce, inspections, and subcontractors. Monitor project costs and budgets, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Perform project planning, estimating, and scheduling activities to meet client requirements and contract specifications. Establish priorities and proactively address project challenges to keep work progressing on schedule. Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements and quality expectations. Serve as the primary point of contact with state and municipal inspectors, maintaining effective communication throughout project execution. Coordinate and oversee traffic control operations in accordance with MUTCD standards and project-specific requirements. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, DEQ, and MSHA regulations while promoting a strong safety culture on every job site. Utilize technology and office equipment, including computers, laptops, smartphones, digital cameras, and other communication tools to support project management, reporting, and documentation. Experience working on projects for NYSDOT, PennDOT, and municipal agencies is highly desirable. Qualifications Associate degree and/or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Superintendent, Project Foreman, or similar leadership role within the heavy highway, roadway, or civil construction industry. Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, production goals, and contract deadlines. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop construction crews in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of MUTCD requirements and work zone traffic control practices. Familiarity with state inspection procedures, documentation requirements, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency with computers, mobile technology, and digital project documentation tools. Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. Willingness to travel and stay out of town as required to support project operations. Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds during the course of the workday. Why Join Vestal Asphalt?
