Benefits Eligible Curran Development Group is partnering with a reputable commercial construction firm serving the Rochester and Western New York region to hire an experienced Working Superintendent to join its field operations team, supporting commercial construction and renovation projects. This is a hands-on field leadership role ideal for an experienced construction professional who enjoys working alongside crews while also coordinating daily jobsite activity, supervising field staff and subcontractors, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The Working Superintendent serves as an on-site leader and supports the successful execution of construction projects by helping plan work, coordinate manpower and materials, communicate with project managers, and maintain safe, clean, and productive jobsites. Schedule & Location Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Overtime or extended hours may be required based on project needs Based out of Victor, NY Most jobsites are located within approximately one hour of Victor Responsibilities Serve as an on-site field leader for assigned construction projects Perform and lead hands-on construction work as needed to support project schedules and quality expectations Supervise and coordinate company field staff, subcontractors, and daily jobsite activity Assist with carpentry, framing, drywall, ACT ceilings, concrete, masonry, demolition, renovation, sitework, and general construction tasks Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to support proper field execution Coordinate daily and weekly work plans to help maintain productivity and project schedules Communicate proactively with project managers regarding field conditions, schedule needs, delays, conflicts, materials, and manpower Help maintain safe, clean, organized, and professional jobsites Enforce company standards for safety, quality, workmanship, and jobsite conduct Assist with layout, material handling, equipment coordination, and installation as needed Track daily progress, manpower, and jobsite activity as requested Support inspections, punch list completion, and project closeout activities Adapt to changing project needs and work environments Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on construction experience preferred Prior experience as a superintendent, foreman, lead carpenter, crew lead, or similar field leadership role preferred Demonstrated ability to supervise crews and coordinate subcontractors Strong working knowledge of general construction means and methods Experience with commercial construction, renovation, or light industrial projects preferred Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work Comfortable performing hands-on work while also leading and coordinating others Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite Basic computer skills, including email, photos, documentation, and scheduling tools Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required OSHA certification preferred or willingness to obtain Military veterans and transitioning service members encouraged to apply Compensation & Benefits Compensation range: $65,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience and skillset Benefits eligible position Opportunity for long-term growth within a growing design-build company
