Job Description

Job Overview:
As a Field Operations Technician, you will be a pivotal member of our construction and field operations team, focusing on underground conduit installations and data compilation for telecom projects, specifically Fiber to the Home (FTTH). This role requires a combination of field work and administrative tasks, executed from various sites or from a company-provided truck.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and oversee the safe setup of traffic control measures before commencing work. Liaise with the 811 interface to ensure all necessary locations are marked prior to excavation. Capture walk-out footage using an iPad and compile data and photographs of the job site. Perform administrative duties in a mobile office setting, including data entry and report generation on an iPad. Communicate effectively with traffic control personnel and other stakeholders. Operate and maintain a diesel 2500 4-door pickup truck, including the ability to back up and hook up a trailer for material transport.
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license, clean MVR, and pass a background and drug test. Proficient with technology such as iPads, spreadsheet applications, and PDF editors. Capable of performing physical tasks in various weather conditions and comfortable working from a truck for extended periods. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or under supervision. Able to work in all weather conditions and be out in the field all day. Must meet physical compatancies of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual abilities. Experience with backing in and operating trailers. Previous telecommunications experience, particularly with FTTH projects.
DAILY WORK ENVIRONMENT
Combination of:
Active construction sites Working from company truck in parking lots All-weather role Around construction activities daily
Schedule:
~7:00 AM - 6:00 PM (10-hour days with lunch) Home every night Very rare weekend work Overtime heavier during summer months
Vehicle:
Company truck provided (diesel 2500, 4-door pickup) Gas card assigned to truck Candidate drives personal vehicle to yard/parking lot, picks up truck, works full day, returns truck After trust is established, may be allowed to take truck home •Please note that company health benefits are not offered upon conversion to FTE.
