Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Ferguson Construction is a leading general contracting and construction management firm with over 100 years of industry expertise. We handle a diverse range of projects, including industrial, commercial, healthcare, and institutional buildings. Our reputation for excellence is built on our comprehensive services, including in-house design and self-performing key trades such as concrete, masonry, steel erection, carpentry, and sheet metal. The Lead Foreman takes on a broader leadership role, managing larger crews or more complex tasks, ensuring high-quality work, coordinating schedules, handling resources and materials, and addressing more advanced challenges on-site. This position has greater decision-making authority and is more involved in project coordination and leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee a larger or more diverse crew, including multiple trades, workers, and subcontractors. Provide direction and guidance, ensuring all workers understand their roles and responsibilities for the day. Foster team collaboration and ensures that everyone is working towards the same project goals. Works closely with the Superintendent or Project Manager to develop and adjust schedules based on project progress and any delays. Ensure that all crew members are following the schedule and that tasks are being completed in the proper sequence. Oversee the quality of the work being performed, making sure that it meets or exceeds industry standards, local codes, and client specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in real-time, providing corrective action when necessary. Coordinate with inspectors or engineers to ensure that work passes inspections or meets required compliance standards. Take a more active role in ensuring that safety standards are met on-site, conducting safety audits and implementing corrective actions when safety violations are identified. Lead safety meetings or briefings, ensuring that the crew is up to date on the latest safety regulations and practices. Manages the day-to-day distribution of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring that all items are in good working condition and ready for use. Identifies potential shortages in materials or equipment and works with management to address these issues before they cause delays. Prepare detailed reports for upper management, tracks project milestones, and updates schedules
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED. Must possess valid driver's license. Minimum 6-8 years of supervisory experience in construction. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCER)
