The Waiver Home Coordinator must be compassionate, organized and flexible. The Coordinator must be able to supervise employees and provide coaching and discipline as needed. The Coordinator must be able to provide guidance and also handle conflict in an effective and professional manner. The Coordinator must be fiscally responsible, able to balance resident income and expenses and maintain benefits including Social Security and Medicaid.
The Coordinator is responsible for:
Overseeing the day to day operations of the homes, training and supervising direct care staff assigned to the home, working direct care shifts when needed, planning and participating in social events and activities, taking individuals to medical appointments, communicating with the nursing staff, maintaining cleanliness of home, shopping for household supplies and groceries, approve and submit billing for services, pay bills, and make banking transactions. This position requires the ability to be very flexible and does not have a set schedule. The On Call responsibility requires taking calls and being available at all hours. Specific Job Duties Schedule direct support staff for the home, fill open shifts and call offs Be on call for the home to handle issues as they arise Schedule and run doctor's appointments Schedule and oversee community activities and outings Grocery shop and follow prescribed diets of the home Conduct staff meetings with direct support staff Train and directly supervise 5-7 direct support employees Submit billing for HPC services as well as transportation Maintain bank accounts for resident funds Pay monthly bills Read, know, and implement Individual's program plans. Alongside Direct Support staff, help individuals with daily living needs, including nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills Ensure Direct Support staff help individuals as needed to bathe, groom, dress, participate in family style dining and other daily living skills. Alongside Direct Support staff maintain a clean, neat and safe home environment.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age, High School Diploma or GED, College degree preferred, Valid Driver's License and clean driving record with no more than 5 points, excellent communication and people skills needed, must be flexible and have good time management skills. On call responsibilities required as well as time spent working direct care. Must have prior Group Home and Supervisory experience.
