About Clear Skies Ahead Clear Skies Ahead is a DODD-certified residential service provider committed to empowering people with developmental disabilities to live full, meaningful lives in their own homes and communities. We partner with children and adults across Trumbull and Geauga counties to deliver personalized, goal-driven supports that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion. Role Summary As a Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure high-quality, person-centered services that align with each individual's service plan and Ohio DODD regulations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong communication, accountability, and problem-solving skills. You will serve as mentor, advocate, and liaison—fostering a safe, respectful environment that promotes client growth and team excellence. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development Train, mentor, supervise, and schedule DSP staff. Conduct performance evaluations, competency assessments, and ongoing coaching. Promote accountability, teamwork, and staff retention. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure all services adhere to Clear Skies Ahead policies, individual service plans, and Ohio DODD regulations. Maintain accurate documentation (progress notes, incident reports, staff logs). Monitor health and safety standards within assigned homes. Client Support & Advocacy Oversee delivery of in-home and community-based supports (e.g., grocery shopping, cooking, budgeting, transportation, medical appointments). Advocate for client rights, preferences, and personal goals. Support implementation of behavior support plans when applicable. Communication & Coordination Serve as primary liaison between clients, families, county boards, medical providers, and external agencies. Facilitate team meetings and communicate schedule changes or emergent needs. On-Call Coverage Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call to support staff and respond to emergencies. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (no more than 3 points on driving record); proof of auto insurance required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, email, internet-based documentation systems). Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening. Preferred Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of Ohio DODD regulations. CPR/First Aid certification. Training in Positive Behavior Support, NCI/CPI, or equivalent. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers if needed. Ability to travel between client homes in Trumbull and Geauga counties. Comfortable working in residential home environments. Ready to Make a Difference?
