Wallace Construction is seeking an experienced and driven General Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for managing daily jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and promoting a safe and productive work environment. This position serves as the primary on-site leader and works closely with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel. Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and company standards. Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling conflicts and field challenges. Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure quality, productivity, and safety. Lead subcontractor meetings and communicate project expectations clearly. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, site photos, and progress updates. Coordinate inspections and approvals with local authorities and project stakeholders. Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and change orders to ensure proper execution of work. Identify and resolve field issues while minimizing project delays and cost impacts. Assist project management with manpower planning, scheduling, and project forecasting. Oversee punch list completion and project closeout activities. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. OSHA 30 Certification. Experience with ground-up construction, renovations, and tenant improvement projects. Ability to work both in office and field environments, including sitting for extended periods of 5-8 hours per day in a jobsite trailer while performing administrative, scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination duties. Must also be able to walk and navigate active construction sites for extended periods, including uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and confined spaces, while working in varying weather conditions. Requires the ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and occasionally lift or carry up to 25-50 pounds. Must be able to wear required PPE, perform detailed visual inspections, communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and respond quickly to changing project conditions and jobsite emergencies.
