Job Title:
Construction Project Manager - ElectricalJob Description This role leads and manages electrical construction projects from award through final closeout, with a strong focus on cost control, scheduling, safety, and client satisfaction. The position oversees large industrial and semiconductor-related electrical scopes, prepares estimates and change orders, and drives project profitability while building long-term relationships with owners, general contractors, vendors, and internal partners. Responsibilities + Plan, manage, and execute electrical construction projects from initial award through final closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget objectives are met. + Track job costs, monitor financial performance, and proactively manage project profitability throughout the project lifecycle. + Prepare, update, and deliver monthly project status reports, including percent-complete and cost-to-complete analyses. + Perform detailed electrical take-offs and prepare accurate estimates for new work, change orders, and scope revisions. + Review construction documents and drawings to define project scope, identify risks, and verify constructability and compliance with standards. + Make informed decisions related to project cost, schedule, risk, and overall performance, escalating issues when necessary. + Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with owners, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to support successful project delivery. + Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to cross-sell integrated services and expand work with existing clients. + Coordinate, schedule, and direct field labor in collaboration with field leadership to align manpower with project milestones and productivity goals. + Review master schedules with field leads and support the development of short-interval and look-ahead schedules to keep work progressing efficiently. + Promote and actively support an injury-free workplace by reinforcing a strong safety culture and adherence to safety policies and procedures. + Negotiate scopes of work, pricing, and contract terms while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company standards. + Review and interpret construction contracts and detailed scope proposals to ensure alignment with project objectives and risk management practices. + Manage project schedules using established construction scheduling methods and tools to maintain on-time delivery. + Collaborate closely with estimating, procurement, and field operations to ensure accurate material ordering, timely delivery, and effective resource allocation. + Maintain clear, professional communication with all project stakeholders and provide timely updates on progress, changes, and issues. + Balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining financial control, schedule adherence, and quality standards. Essential Skills + Minimum of 5 years of construction project management experience in the regional market. + Hands-on project management experience in electrical construction, ideally on large electrical scopes up to $10+ million. + Prior experience supporting semiconductor or industrial construction projects strongly preferred. + Demonstrated experience reviewing electrical construction drawings and producing detailed cost estimates. + Strong working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and construction methods. + Ability to read, interpret, and draft construction contracts and detailed scope proposals. + Experience managing project schedules using established construction scheduling methods. + Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. + Estimating software experience required; ConEst preferred. + Proven ability to develop and maintain successful client and contractor relationships. + Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining financial and schedule control. + Background in change order management and construction document review. + Experience working with or for electrical contractors on complex projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with industrial and semiconductor project environments. + Familiarity with large-scale electrical construction projects and high-value scopes. + Exposure to estimating platforms such as Accubid or similar tools. + Construction management or related technical education is beneficial. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support accurate forecasting and decision-making. + Ability to collaborate effectively with field leadership and cross-functional teams. + Comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented division within a large electrical contracting organization. Work Environment This is a full-time, in-office position based in Northwest Portland. You will work in a professional office environment closely connected to active construction projects, collaborating daily with project managers, estimators, and field leadership. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $155000.00/yr. Opportunity for a discretionary year-end bonus. 401k with a 40% employer match (up to federal limit.) Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Portland,OR.
