ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY
Konell Construction & Demolition is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of civil construction and public works projects.

The Assistant Project Manager serves as a critical partner to the Project Manager and field team. This position requires exceptional organization, follow-through, communication, and attention to detail. We are looking for someone who thrives on keeping projects organized, documentation accurate, and deadlines on track.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Documentation Maintain current jobsite plans and project documents Prepare, track, and maintain RFIs Prepare and process submittals Manage change order documentation and logs Maintain meeting minutes and project records Ensure all project files remain organized and current Project Coordination Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, and owners Assist with scheduling and project planning Track project milestones and deliverables Support procurement and material tracking Coordinate project meetings and follow-up items Financial Support Assist with project cost tracking Prepare pay applications, reports and billing documentation Track subcontractor agreements and purchase orders. Assist with change order pricing and documentation Field Support Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents Assist with issue resolution and project communication Help ensure projects stay on schedule Support safety and quality control efforts Closeout Support Assemble closeout documents Track punch list completion Collect warranties, manuals, and final project documentation Support project turnover activities
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
2+ years of construction project coordination, project engineering, assistant PM, or related experience Ability to read construction drawings and specifications Strong written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience with Microsoft Office and construction software like HCSS, Heavy Bid, and BlueBeam.
Preferred:
Civil construction or public works experience Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and project documentation Familiarity with public agency projects
