The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment Accounting & Financial Management Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Oversee general ledger activity and account reconciliations Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banks, and insurance providers Ensure subcontractor compliance including insurance, lien waivers, and contract documentation Oversee contract billing, AIA billing, retainage tracking, and collections Manage sales/use tax filings and other regulatory reporting Oversee licensing and registration renewals Support workers' compensation audits and insurance reporting Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and standard operating procedures Assist with continual implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes Leadership & Team Support Supervise and support accounting staff Collaborate with operations, estimating, and project management teams Provide training and mentorship to team members as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction Strong understanding of job costing Experience with construction ERP/accounting software Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Experience with AIA billing Knowledge of subcontractor compliance and lien processes Familiarity with payroll and multi-state licensing requirements Experience improving accounting workflows and operational processes This is a hybrid position and requires regular collaboration with accounting, operations, and project management teams. The role may occasionally require additional hours during month-end close or audit periods.
