Associate Construction Project Manager Job Title Associate Construction Project Manager Education Associate's Degree Location AZ/NM (close/within proximity to Navajo Nation desired) Career Level Professional Category Professional Full-time Travel Frequent travel to BIE school sites within/near Navajo Nation; occasional nationwide travel. Job Description Required qualifications for each Associate CPM Each Associate CPM shall have the following credentials: Shall possess an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, engineering technology, architecture, project management, or a related field. Demonstrated interest or foundational knowledge in construction management, facilities management, or engineering principles. 1-3 years of experience in construction, facilities, project coordination, or a related field (internships or academic project experience acceptable). Basic understanding of construction terminology, materials, and methods of installation. Familiarity with or ability to learn construction scheduling concepts and tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to learn Maximo and RSMeans/CostWorks. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and interact professionally with school staff and project teams. Ability to organize, track, and maintain project documentation, including correspondence, reports, and project records. Willingness and ability to travel frequently to BIE school sites, primarily within the Navajo Nation. A valid driver's license.
Geographic requirement:
Must reside within or in close proximity to the Navajo Nation to ensure effective school support. Tasking, duties, and responsibilities The Associate CPM shall support Senior/Advanced CPMs and BIE by assisting in coordination and execution of construction and facilities-related projects, with an emphasis on school engagement within the Navajo Nation. The scope of services includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: A. Project Coordination and Support Assists Senior CPMs in tracking project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure alignment with project objectives. Maintains and updates project tracking tools, including Maximo and other BIE systems. Supports preparation of project status reports, meeting notes, and updates for BIE leadership and stakeholders. Assists in identifying project risks and escalating issues to Senior CPMs for resolution. B. Stakeholder Communication and School Engagement Serves as a primary point of contact for assigned BIE schools, especially within the Navajo Nation. Coordinates with Facility Managers, school leadership, and BIE staff to clarify project requirements and ensure alignment with school needs. Facilitates timely communication between schools and project teams, ensuring documentation flows appropriately. Assists schools in understanding project timelines, processes, and expectations, including participation in project planning efforts. C. Project Development Support Assists in collecting field data and verifying facility conditions to support development of deferred maintenance work orders (DMWO), projects of requirements (PRQ), and project scopes. Supports development of preliminary cost estimates and project documentation. Conducts basic market research to support project planning and procurement. Assists in reviewing project documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to submission. D. Design and Construction Support Assists Senior CPMs with review of project designs, drawings, and specifications. Supports coordination of RFIs, submittals, and other construction documentation. Participates in site visits and inspections, observing progress and documenting findings. Assists in monitoring contractor performance and documenting issues, progress, and field conditions. E. Data Management and Reporting Ensures project data is accurately entered and maintained in Maximo and other systems. Assists in maintaining organized electronic project files including correspondence, reports, and supporting documentation. Supports data collection and reporting for annual project prioritization and program performance tracking. F. General Program Support Provides administrative and technical support to CPM teams managing multiple projects across BIE schools. Assists in improving standardized project management processes and documentation practices. Supports BIE initiatives related to facilities planning, prioritization, and project execution. Performs other duties as assigned in support of BIE's education construction and facilities management mission.Pay:
