THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees complex construction work on multi-lane roadway and multi-span bridge projects to ensure they meet all required plans, standards, and contract documents. Your work will focus on supervising inspections, coordinating with partners, and guiding project teams from assignment through completion. As a Construction Field IIC, you will perform the following duties:
Project Direction:
Lead construction activities and manage multiple highway and bridge projects from start to finish
Issue Resolution:
Coordinate with municipalities, utilities, businesses, and other partners to resolve construction challenges
Technical Oversight:
Review plans, guide field decisions, and provide technical support to keep work aligned with requirements
Documentation Control:
Prepare reports, estimates, certifications, and work order materials for construction activities
Team Supervision:
Assign tasks, evaluate performance, support training needs, and guide inspection staff
Project Review:
Monitor progress, evaluate safety and quality, and participate in after action reviews and project closeout procedures
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability. Overtime and travel as needed.
Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% of the work schedule, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Five years of experience in construction inspection, three of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, and graduation from high school or equivalent certification or formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Requirements:
This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
