Job Description
One of our premier retail clients is looking to hire a Real Estate Construction Manager. This person will lead retail construction projects from early planning through key turnover — new builds, remodels, relocations, and refresh programs. Will be the primary point of accountability for cost, schedule, and brand standards. High-visibility role interfacing directly with Legal and Real Estate on disputes and delays.

$75,000-$85,000
Location:
MUST SIT
in Dallas/Fort Worth area to be able to commute to airport easily (REMOTE work when not traveling)
Travel:
~25%
MUST-HAVES
5+ years managing retail construction projects, specifically multi-site rollouts Strong grasp of retail construction schedules, store opening coordination, and prototype execution Budget, schedule, and vendor management across multiple concurrent projects Valid driver's license; ability to travel (primarily Midwest) Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Bonus)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Budget & Schedule Management :
Develop conceptual budgets and detailed project cost tracking; create and manage schedules aligned to retail opening calendars; identify risks early; coordinate capital vs. lease scope with Finance and Real Estate.
Vendor & Contractor Oversight :
Lead bid processes and contractor selection; manage GCs, architects, engineers, and specialty vendors; hold all parties accountable to scope, schedule, and cost; support resolution of disputes impacting store openings.
Permitting, Due Diligence & Compliance :
Coordinate site assessments, landlord coordination, and permitting; ensure compliance with local codes, lease requirements, and brand standards; maintain project documentation and logs; interface with Legal and Real Estate on construction-related disputes.
Construction Oversight & Store Readiness:
Conduct site visits; review weekly reports and communicate status/risks to stakeholders; manage punch lists and drive closeout; coordinate final handoff to Store Operations and Store Maintenance.
