Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Construction Project Manager to join a growing team in South Dakota. This role will oversee a variety of heavy civil projects including underground wet utilities, site development, roadway/highway work, paving, and bridge-related projects. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can manage projects from pre-construction through closeout while maintaining safety, quality, schedules, and budgets. Responsibilities Manage civil construction projects from start to finish Oversee underground wet utility projects including water, sewer, and storm systems Coordinate site development, grading, paving, roadway, and bridge-related scopes Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets Manage subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and project documentation Handle RFIs, change orders, submittals, and procurement Maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, inspectors, and field teams Monitor project safety, quality control, and production Assist with estimating, project planning, and forecasting Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget Qualifications 5+ years of experience in civil construction project management preferred Background in underground utilities, heavy civil, highway, paving, or bridge construction Strong understanding of DOT, municipal, and private civil projects Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and civil drawings Knowledge of excavation, grading, utility installation, and sitework operations Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software Valid driver's license required Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required with equivalent experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience 401(k) Paid time off and paid holidays Career advancement opportunities Long-term stable workload Supportive team-oriented environment And more...
