Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vertical Superintendent - Commercial to lead and oversee large-scale commercial construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction management experience, and a deep understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration. Responsibilities Lead and supervise all phases of commercial construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth communication and workflow. Develop detailed project schedules using construction management software such as Primavera P6 or HeavyBid; monitor progress regularly and adjust plans as needed. Oversee safety protocols on-site in compliance with OSHA standards; conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety policies. Review blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation; read and interpret technical documents effectively. Manage procurement processes including contracts, change orders, and negotiations to optimize resources and minimize costs. Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets specifications; address issues promptly to maintain high standards of craftsmanship. Supervise on-site construction activities, providing guidance to field teams; ensure work is performed efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards. Utilize construction management software for project scheduling, budgeting, tracking progress, and reporting project status to stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive documentation including daily logs, incident reports, inspection records, and project updates. Qualifications Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management with a strong background in supervising large teams on active sites. Extensive knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and OSHAs regulations. Demonstrated ability in project scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and managing multiple stakeholders. Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, construction estimating, and quality control processes. Strong supervisory skills with a track record of leading diverse teams effectively while fostering a safe work environment. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including OSHA standards; able to conduct safety audits confidently. Technical proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting; experience reading technical schematics is preferred. $60,000.00 - $93,309.11 per year
