Chattanooga, TN Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee heavy civil construction and site development projects from planning through completion. This role is primarily office-based and focuses heavily on pre-construction activities, project administration, technical documentation, bid preparation, submittals, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination. Occasional site visits will be required to support project execution and monitor progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans. Coordinate project activities with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Lead pre-construction efforts including bid preparation, cost reviews, technical writing, and submittal management. Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines and budgets. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines. Manage project documentation, contracts, permits, RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and other project resources. Support procurement activities and vendor/subcontractor management. Prepare detailed project reports, forecasts, and presentations for management review. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project partners. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of construction project management experience, preferably within heavy civil construction, infrastructure, or site development projects. Strong understanding of construction project management principles, methodologies, and best practices. Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and project documentation. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for access to secured facilities, including military installations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with project teams and stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping skills. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. Experience with heavy civil, infrastructure, utility, transportation, industrial, or government-funded projects. Familiarity with construction bidding processes and technical proposal development. Software Experience Experience with one or more of the following construction and project management platforms is preferred: Primavera P6 Procore HCSS HeavyBid / HeavyJob CMiC Sage / Timberline Trimble Viewpoint Vista Microsoft Project Other construction management and scheduling software Travel Requirements Occasional travel to project sites and regional offices as required.
