The Garage Door Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of garage door installation and service teams, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. This role manages field operations, supports revenue growth through customer engagement and sales, and ensures a strong customer experience from initial contact through project completion. This position serves customers across Clarksville and surrounding Tennessee and Kentucky communities with an approximate 60-mile service area. This is a working sales role responsible for promoting and selling residential and commercial garage door products and services while also performing installation, repair, and customer support activities. The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of garage door systems and a proven ability to grow business through exceptional service and relationship building. Key Responsibilities Manage daily garage door installation and service operations to ensure productivity, quality, and efficiency. Oversee company vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness, maintenance, and compliance. Monitor field teams to ensure work is completed according to company standards, timelines, and safety protocols. Enforce safety procedures and proactively address hazards to maintain a safe work environment. Coordinate schedules, crews, and materials to minimize downtime and optimize workforce efficiency. Oversee project timelines, budgets, and scope, including personal sales where applicable. Collaborate with sales, estimators, dispatch, and technicians to ensure smooth project transitions from sale to completion. Ensure materials and garage door products are available and staged appropriately to prevent delays. Monitor inventory levels, material usage, and costs to reduce waste and improve profitability. Serve as a primary point of contact for customers during installation or service, ensuring a high level of satisfaction. Resolve customer concerns, callbacks, or service issues promptly and professionally. Maintain and grow relationships with repeat customers, builders, and referral partners. Support revenue growth by identifying upsell opportunities, generating leads, and promoting services in the field. Oversee facility organization, cleanliness, and safety within the warehouse/shop environment. Coordinate logistics for delivery of doors, openers, and materials to job sites. Lead, coach, and develop technicians and support staff; provide ongoing performance feedback. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of garage door technicians. Maintain accurate operational documentation including job reports, safety records, and service logs. Support budgeting, cost tracking, and operational reporting. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, service quality, and profitability. Qualifications Proven experience in garage door operations, construction, service management, or a related field. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Experience managing field teams, scheduling, and service operations. Familiarity with service management or scheduling software (e.g., ServiceTitan, etc.). Ability to manage multiple projects, service calls, and priorities simultaneously. Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in the garage door industry or similar trade (overhead doors, construction, home services).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to regularly visit job sites and navigate construction or residential environments. Ability to occasionally lift or move materials (garage doors, openers, parts) up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a computer for scheduling, reporting, and administrative duties. Ability to safely drive company vehicles between job sites and locations.
