Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Grading Foreman to lead and oversee grading operations on construction sites. This pivotal role involves managing grading crews, ensuring project milestones are met efficiently, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction management, excellent supervisory skills, and a comprehensive understanding of grading techniques, blueprints, and construction software tools. Your leadership will drive project success from planning through completion, ensuring all work aligns with specifications, budgets, and safety regulations. Duties Lead and supervise grading crews to execute earthwork operations accurately according to project plans and schematics. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to schedule work phases and ensure timely completion of grading tasks. Review blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to interpret grading requirements and technical specifications. Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, or similar tools for project scheduling, tracking progress, and resource allocation. Conduct quality control inspections to verify that grading work meets safety standards, design specifications, and client expectations. Manage on-site safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations; conduct safety meetings and enforce proper use of equipment like the ohmmeter for electrical checks. Oversee the use of construction management software for documentation, reporting, and communication across teams. Supervise the use of heavy machinery and equipment; ensure proper maintenance and operation while adhering to safety guidelines. Monitor project budgets related to grading activities; assist in cost estimation and resource management. Ensure accurate reading of blueprints and schematics; interpret technical drawings for precise earthmoving activities. Maintain detailed records of daily progress, safety incidents, equipment usage, and material inventories for project documentation. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site supervision with a focus on grading or earthwork projects. Strong knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6 (Primavera), HeavyBid, or equivalent tools. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating processes. Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams on active construction sites. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety management. Ability to operate or oversee the use of heavy machinery including graders, bulldozers, excavators, with proficiency in equipment maintenance checks using tools like ohmmeters. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within budget constraints. Strong communication skills for coordinating between teams and ensuring project alignment with client specifications. Relevant certifications such as OSHA safety training or heavy equipment operation certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
