Job Description

Our client is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager with a Data Center specialism to support the delivery of high‑value, technically complex projects. This opportunity is well suited to candidates coming from a general contracting background who want to deepen their exposure to large‑scale, design‑build environments.
The RoleThe Assistant Construction Manager will support senior project leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of data center construction projects. The position is hands‑on, requiring close interaction with subcontractors, design teams, and internal project controls functions.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting day‑to‑day construction oversight on active data center projectsAssisting with project planning, sequencing, and short‑term look‑ahead schedulingSupporting cost development activities, including forecasting and budget trackingAssisting with the review, preparation, and management of change ordersSupporting subcontract procurement, administration, and performance managementParticipating in RFP preparation, bid evaluation, and award recommendationsCoordinating with design teams in a design‑build delivery environmentSupporting quality, safety, and schedule objectives throughout constructionRequired Experience & Skills4-7 years of construction management experience within a general contracting environmentStrong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and field operationsExperience supporting cost control, scheduling, and contract administration activitiesExposure to subcontract negotiation, RFPs, and competitive bid processesExperience working on design‑build construction projectsStrong coordination and communication skills across multiple project stakeholdersPreferred ExperienceDirect experience working on or helping to deliver data center projectsExperience supporting or leading portions of mission‑critical or technically complex buildsExperience on fast‑paced projects with demanding safety, quality, and schedule requirementsWhy This OpportunityJoin a highly respected international contractor with a strong global reputationEmployee‑owned structure offering long‑term career alignment and financial participationExposure to repeat data center programs and technically challenging projectsClear pathways for progression into Construction Manager and Project Manager roles
