This position ensures all aspects of assigned projects are carried out as efficiently as possible with respect to staffing, materials management, financial management, customer care, and customer delivery goals. The Superintendent oversees project staffing requirements and coordinates with Project Managers to ensure the timely completion of projects in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. - This position requires daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities that must be completed in a timely manner.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, promotes, disciplines and discharges, if necessary, all project related staff. Effectively manages all human resource issues per Company policies and procedures. Completes recommendations for project related employees' performance ratings, promotions and pay changes.
  • Manages overall project workload distribution and staffing levels. Schedules project staff and partners, and equipment and tools required to accomplish the job in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage daily activities of the project staff and partners, ensuring alignment with the project schedule, priorities and budget.
  • Works with Project Managers to ensure telecommunications installations are performed in accordance with master specifications, standard installation details, and site specifications.
  • Possess complete knowledge of the terms of the installation documents, including the complete drawings, specifications, addenda, change documents, and any other pertinent documents.
  • Works with Project Managers to develop overall project schedules. Assists in the periodic updating of these schedules throughout the course of installations.
  • Coordinates the pre-inspection, testing and verification of system functions with the customer.
  • Actively participates in pre-work meetings to familiarize partners with the project schedule, installation methods, Company procedures and policies, and quality standards expected.
  • Attends regular work group meetings to review and update schedules, RFI's, and change orders with Project Manager
  • Reviews and monitors operational processes for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency, including but not limited to estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling and reporting.
  • Monitors all safety issues related to project installations. Administers corrective actions on safety and audit violations and ensures that proper safety equipment is available and used. Actively promotes safety as a first priority.
  • Manages all quality issues related to project installations. Performs quality checks, manages the prevention of outages, and conducts job walks to ensure Company quality standards.
  • Maintains positive, continuous communication with customers, as needed, with the Project Manager. - This position requires at least the following minimum requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion.
Proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Demonstrated detailed level of technical knowledge; able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise. Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations. Demonstrated ability to work with and lead internal/external cross-functional and partner teams to develop lookahead schedules and leveling manpower needs. Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives. Direct and manage construction teams based on construction drawing analysis to ensure tasks are completed on time and within allotted labor hours. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other trades. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Monitor project progress and recommend adjustments labor or materials as necessary. Resolve any issues or conflicts between managed crew or other trades that arise during construction.
