Job Description
The Opportunity An established engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead major transportation projects across Texas. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a delivery‑focused environment, enjoys owning schedules and change management, and has a strong understanding of TxDOT construction practices . You'll serve as the senior point of responsibility for project execution-overseeing scheduling, coordinating stakeholders, managing change orders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Lead construction project delivery from notice to proceed through close‑out on TxDOT transportation projects Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 Analyze schedule impacts, delays, and recovery plans; provide clear reporting to stakeholders Manage change orders , claims support, and cost impacts in coordination with clients and contractors Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, contractors, and agency representatives Ensure compliance with TxDOT specifications, plans, and construction standards Monitor progress, risks, and forecasts, proactively addressing issues before they escalate Support documentation, progress reporting, and executive‑level communication as needed Required Qualifications Proven TxDOT project experience (required) 10+ years of construction project management experience within transportation or heavy civil infrastructure Strong Primavera P6 expertise with hands‑on schedule development and analysis Demonstrated experience managing change orders, time impacts, and cost controls Deep understanding of roadway, bridge, and transportation construction processes Strong communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with owners, contractors, and consultants Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally within Texas as projects require Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field PE, PMP, or CCM certification Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar TxDOT construction programs Background in CEI, construction management, or owner‑representation roles Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Practice Builder
