We are seeking a Field Project Supervisor who will lead field staff, support effective prioritization of work, and maintain a high level of expertise in fiber optic communications construction equipment and specifications, along with basic knowledge of design, mapping, and engineering. Responsibilities Provide direction to field staff and support prioritization of daily tasks. Maintain strong working knowledge of equipment and specifications related to fiber optic communications construction. Demonstrate foundational understanding of design, mapping, and engineering principles. Monitor field quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Issue, track, and manage work required to complete assigned projects. Perform quality control checks on all field‑generated maps and documentation. Review and verify personnel invoices to confirm work completion and accuracy. Coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors, construction managers, and field staff. Monitor and maintain project schedules to meet customer requirements. Meet regularly with key stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are achieved. Address project and personnel issues to meet cost targets, timelines, and customer satisfaction expectations. Conduct performance reviews and foster an environment of continuous improvement and accountability. Coach, train, develop, and manage direct reports; review, approve, and submit weekly timesheets. Promote and uphold the company's image by practicing ethical business standards and ensuring high‑quality service delivery to customers and the public. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Communications, and/or similar preferred. 3 years of experience in CATV/Telecom field operations, including engineering, mapping, design, permitting, utility locating, invoicing, and staffing. Prior supervisory experience in a related industry preferred. Knowledge of DOT permitting requirements. Experience with utility coordination and right‑of‑way (ROW) requirements. Working knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NESC, NEC, OSHA safety regulations) is preferred. OSHA 30 Certification preferred. Familiarity with fiber placement methods, splicing concepts, and testing fundamentals (OTDR, power meter basics) preferred. Working knowledge of cable design and the construction of cable systems. Detailed understanding of field processes and construction practices. Ability to accurately update as‑built field prints using equipment and information obtained during field walkouts. Ability to identify constructability issues and recommend field-based solutions. Understanding of fiber optic network architecture, including backbone, distribution, and access networks. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber route maps, and engineering prints. Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and collaborate effectively with Construction Services leadership. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, project management software, and various web-based applications. Strong documentation skills, including daily reports, production tracking, and closeout packages. Ability to work in a fast-paced, field driven environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Highly responsible, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently. Strong ability to interact and communicate professionally with colleagues, vendors, and customers. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed. The ability to embrace corporate values, understand the company's vision, and exemplify CCI leadership behaviors. Shift is Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST but must be able to work outside normal business hours when required.
Additional Information:
Must be willing to travel up to 100%; may include overnight stays on a weekly basis dependent on candidate location and region. If further travel is required, this could consist of 10 days on and 4-5 days off. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. #LI-DNI
