ABOUT SIXTH GEN CONSTRUCTION
Sixth Gen Construction is a commercial general contractor based in Georgetown, Texas, with six generations of Central Texas roots. We specialize in tenant improvement and renovation work across healthcare, dental, hospitality, and commercial sectors. We are a tight-knit team that moves fast, communicates clearly, and holds ourselves to a standard we'd be proud to put our family name on. This is a family business built on a family name. ROLE SUMMARY
The Superintendent is responsible for day-to-day field execution on commercial construction projects. You'll own the job site by coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, enforcing quality and safety standards, and serving as the primary point of contact between the field and the office. Projects are located throughout the greater Austin area. You will report directly to ownership. This is a leadership role. We need someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and does the right thing even when no one is watching. You must be personable, organized, and a clear communicator.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all on-site operations from mobilization through punch list and closeout Coordinate and direct subcontractors, ensuring scope compliance, quality, and schedule adherence Communicate clearly and proactively with clients and owners : daily updates on progress, schedule, and any issues; no surprises, no excuses Maintain detailed and professional daily logs: work performed, manpower on site, weather, issues, RFIs Conduct regular quality control walks; document and resolve deficiencies before they become punch list items Hold subs accountable to schedule Enforce OSHA safety standards and project-specific safety plans at all times Communicate proactively with the project manager and ownership with no surprises Review and understand plans, specifications, and submittals; identify conflicts early Coordinate equipment installation and milestone walkthroughs Support procurement by confirming delivery windows, staging areas, and installation readiness
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience as a superintendent or lead foreman on commercial construction projects Demonstrated experience with tenant improvement and renovation work Solid understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with digital tools - project management software, daily reports, email communication OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain) Valid driver's license You must pass a background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in healthcare, dental, or hospitality construction Experience using JobTread or similar construction management platforms

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
