Job Description

Job Summary This role drives a continuous improvement culture throughout the nuclear fleet by influencing, mentoring and providing leadership to nuclear fleet leaders and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Director provides leaders training on implementing company initiatives, maintains the nuclear fleet continuous improvement process and procedure and ensures business operations are implemented based on established goals. The Director, Fleet OPI will foster development, and will coach OPI Leads in tools such as Lean Thinking, Influence Strategy, and other Operational Improvement strategies. Director Fleet OPI core business include:
  • Working closely with both site leadership teams and the OR team to ensure successful implementation of OPI strategies, initiatives, and embed the desired culture and OPI mindset
  • Developing annual OPI targets to support continuous improvement and communicates and implements with the sites
  • Providing OPI updates to the SLT and enterprise leadership
  • Leading Operational Learning & Continuous Improvement efforts to improve reliability/safety/costs; lead and facilitate ideation sessions targeting specific improvement areas
  • Ensuring initiative owners (IO) are supported as they develop continuous improvement initiatives and business plans; ensure consistent methodology in valuing and implementing OPI projects
  • Monitoring site Wave pipeline and work with site leaders and OPI Leads to ensure proper initiative progression
  • Functioning as a positive change driver to site leaders, influencing OPI Culture maturation
  • Developing trusting relationships with all internal and external stakeholders Job Description Key Accountabilities Proactively ensure initiatives in the OPI database for the site and monitor KPIs for each site.
Assist site leaders in identifying and delivering cross functional cost reduction initiatives, often leading improvement-focused teams. Monitor and communicate progress of KPIs associated with OPI. Assist site leadership in engagement of all employees to sustain continuous improvement, identify and reduce waste. Coordinate and drive gross margin improvement opportunities with each site. Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements BS or BA in Engineering or Business equivalent required Leadership skills to include strong mentoring, training and coaching skills. Must be a superior communicator with small and large groups of varying seniority across multiple organizations. Ability to drive and influence the organization Experience in power generation preferred.
