Position Overview VIDA Builders is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Superintendent / Superintendent to support and oversee daily field operations on commercial and hospitality construction projects. This role is critical to maintaining project momentum, site organization, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and communication between the field and project management teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, technologically capable, and confident leading subcontractors while maintaining strong relationships with ownership teams, consultants, and field personnel. You will work directly under the Project Executive/CEO and alongside the Project Manager to help execute projects safely, efficiently, and at a high level of quality. Core ResponsibilitiesField Operations Assist in managing day-to-day field operations across active construction projects Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and daily work activities Maintain project schedule momentum and identify potential delays before they impact progress Conduct daily site walks to verify workmanship, manpower, safety, cleanliness, and production Ensure projects are executed in accordance with plans, specifications, and VIDA Builders quality standards Support project turnover, punch list completion, and closeout activities Leadership & Communication Lead subcontractors with professionalism, accountability, and urgency Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, ownership teams, architects, consultants, and vendors Participate in OAC meetings, subcontractor meetings, and internal coordination meetings Escalate issues early with proposed solutions — not just problems Represent VIDA Builders professionally in both appearance and communication Scheduling & Coordination Assist with 2-week look-ahead schedules and daily planning Coordinate inspections, procurement tracking, and material deliveries Help maintain workflow between trades to minimize downtime and conflicts Review plans and specifications proactively to identify conflicts, missing information, or constructability concerns Safety & Quality Control Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused project site Enforce OSHA standards and VIDA Builders safety expectations Perform quality control inspections throughout all phases of construction Ensure corrective actions are addressed immediately and properly documented Documentation & Technology Maintain accurate daily logs, photo documentation, manpower tracking, and progress updates Utilize construction management software including: Contractor Foreman Bluebeam Procore (preferred) Microsoft Office / Google Workspace Use technology and AI tools to improve communication, organization, and efficiency Maintain organized project documentation and field reporting standards What We're Looking For - Required Experience 3+ years of commercial construction field experience preferred Experience in hospitality, retail, restaurant, or commercial interior projects strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents Strong understanding of sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination Knowledge of commercial construction practices including: Framing Drywall MEP coordination Concrete Finish-out work Site logistics Preferred Traits High sense of urgency Strong communication skills Organized and detail-oriented Self-starter mentality Technologically capable Team-first mindset Professional appearance and conduct Ability to operate independently without constant oversight Pride in craftsmanship and project presentation
