Job Description:
Nationwide Design-Build firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent for a full-time position. The Project Superintendent oversees the daily operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. The duties will vary, however, expect to be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Procurement of materials and services necessary for construction.
  • Initial mobilization and site setup.
  • Prepare and route RFI's to the RFI manager and distribute RFI responses.
  • Prepare and route Submittals to the Submittal manager and distribute Submittal responses.
  • Review and approve all Subcontractor and Vendor invoicing before submitting to the Project Maner for processing.
  • Manage Project documents and maintain document folders for document storage and/or distribution.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining up to date red-line drawings that document as-built conditions.
  • Responsible for conducting weekly safety meetings and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Responsible for daily reporting, photos and overall Project documentation.
  • Responsible for documenting OSHA compliance.
  • Manage subcontractors to maintain project housekeeping/cleanliness.
  • Assure contractual compliance by verifying installed equipment, materials and quality workmanship performance at all times.
  • Schedule all required 3rd party special inspections and local jurisdiction inspections. Document all reports indicating rejection or approvals.
  • Compliance with all requirements listed in the specifications and plans.
  • Communicate with the client's representative and maintain a productive/positive working relationship with all parties.
  • Maintain a healthy working relationship with all subcontractors and vendors.
  • Prepare initial punch list and assist the Owner with inspection and verification of satisfactory punch list completion.
  • Schedule and document all final inspections.
  • Obtain Certificate of Occupancy or Compliance for project close out documentation.
  • Create and archive all Project close out documentation.
  • Perform follow-up communications with Clients, Project Manager, Director of Construction, and all Project stakeholders to verify satisfactory performance.

  • Detailed & Organized Basic qualifications for candidates include: Minimum of 5 years of Commercial construction industry experience and experience overseeing projects/trades with value of $5M or more.
OSHA 30 training required. Procore training required. Knowledge of basic business principles sufficient to manage project committed cost and direct cost. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including; Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project & Microsoft Teams. Ability to review, interpret and critique technical specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, product/material installation instructions and engineering/architectural drawings. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
