Job Description

Job Summary Rucoba & Maya Construction, LLC is a Texas-based civil contractor specializing in roadway construction, flatwork, and storm drainage for TXDOT and municipal clients across Central Texas. As a certified DBE/HUB firm, we bring a strong commitment to quality, compliance, and community to every project. The Project Manager at Rucoba & Maya Construction leads construction projects from start to finish. This person makes sure the job stays on time, stays on budget, and is done the right way. The role also keeps daily work moving, coordinates with internal and external teams, and manages billing, contracts, and change orders. The Project Manager is responsible for building excellent client relationships, planning and executing the project's financial plan, and helping the team grow. The Project Manager supports strong project results, clear communication, and dependable delivery. He/ She must exemplify and uphold the purpose, vision, core values, and leadership standards of R&M Construction, playing a pivotal role in consistently applying and advocating these principles across the organization and in daily interactions with employees and customers. Responsibilities Review the project scope, budget, and schedule at the start of the project, confirm the budget in Spectrum, and make sure the team understands the main deadlines and startup needs. Lead preconstruction meetings with the Owners and General Contractors (GC), subcontractors, and the RM teams so everyone understands the project before work begins. Coordinate daily and monthly work so the project stays on track, including crew schedules, job duration, workforce, deliverables, and clear communication with the RM team. Track project milestones, identify delays early, and work with field and support teams to fix problems quickly. Make sure the Contract Routing Process starts on time, keeps moving, and is finished without delay. Take part in post-award hand-off meetings and turn the project scope into clear startup tasks, including setting up the job folder on the server, preparing job information and taxexempt sheets for suppliers, placing calls for underground utility locating, and project plan submittals. Track project documents such as RFIs, submittals, schedules, and backup records so approvals happen on time, field work runs smoothly, and records are ready if any issue, claim, or dispute comes up. Complete project closeout by making sure punch list items, handover documents, warranty tracking, and final invoicing are finished. Review project expenses daily and weekly and compare actual costs to the budget for each trade or cost code. Track committed costs, remaining budget, and possible overruns using internal cost reports and forecasting tools. Prepare and submit correct monthly billing by the 10th of each month, work with accounting to process it, and follow up with GC accounts payable contacts to help collect payment on time. Review vendor and subcontractor invoices to make sure they match the work, manage subcontractor's progress and coordination, and approve invoices within accounting guidelines and deadlines. Manage change orders from start to finish by collecting field information, processing ASIs and RFIs, pricing and submitting change orders to the client, and making sure they are carried out. Forecast monthly revenue based on billing and percentage-of-completion information. Review production reports every week, including HeavyJob or similar daily field data, to make sure labor and material use match cost expectations and that project managers receive correct field information. Experience Minimum 5-6 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 3-4 years in a full-scope project management role. Proven track record of delivering civil and/or commercial, institutional projects on time and within budget. Experience coordinating with General Contractors (GCs), subcontractors, clients, and internal functional teams.
