The Mechanical Foreman leads field crews in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial piping systems, mechanical equipment, and structural supports. This position is responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with project plans, quality standards, and safety regulations. The Mechanical Foreman also acts as the primary liaison between field personnel and project management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate the activities of pipefitters, welders, riggers, and helpers Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to plan daily work Assign tasks, monitor crew performance, and ensure adherence to schedules Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety standards and company procedures Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades on planning and execution Conduct jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and daily safety meetings Verify that materials, tools, and equipment are available and used properly Provide leadership and mentorship to crew members, supporting skill development and training Verify and ensure that daily reports, timesheets, progress updates, and other required documentation are submitted in a timely manner Assist with resolving technical issues and field adjustments as needed KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of industrial piping systems, materials, and installation methods Strong understanding of drawings, specs, codes, and quality standards Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in fastpaced environments Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical issues and field coordination Strong communication and interpersonal skills Competent in enforcing company and OSHA safety practices EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required Minimum 5+ years of mechanical construction experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role OSHA 30 certification required NCCER or other industry certifications preferred CPR/First Aid certification preferred Must pass background check, MVR (if applicable), and drug screening WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
