Estimating Director

Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Estimating to lead their estimating function with precision, accountability, and forward-thinking leadership. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving accurate cost forecasting, developing a high-performing team, and supporting the successful launch of construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in earthwork estimating, a strong command of industry software, and proven experience managing and growing teams. This individual will play a critical role in shaping project success through accurate, competitive, and well-informed estimates.

Salary:

$100,000-$140,000 Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team, setting clear expectations and driving high performance Prepare detailed and accurate project cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and bid documents Utilize estimating software (Agtek, Bluebeam, etc.) to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and ensure alignment Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors to support project profitability Incorporate cost control strategies, risk assessments, and contingencies into all estimates Review project scope and schedules to ensure alignment with budget objectives Identify and implement process improvements to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency Key Requirements Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in earthwork-specific estimating Proficiency with Agtek software (required) and Bluebeam or similar tools At least 5 years of leadership or management experience Qualifications Strong background in construction estimating with a focus on earthwork In-depth understanding of construction methods, project lifecycle, and contract administration Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions Proven negotiation and vendor management skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Experience with cost control, budgeting, and pricing strategies Field or hands-on construction experience is a plus This is an opportunity to join a growing organization where leadership, innovation, and technical expertise directly impact project success.
