Full Job Description Job Duties:
Serve as the direct supervisor for Direct Care Workers assigned to the home(s). Monitor staff schedules and arrange coverage for vacancies or shortages. Adjust personal schedule as needed to cover open shifts during emergencies. Be prepared to respond immediately to reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, including removing the alleged staff member from duty and ensuring shift coverage until relief staff arrive. Ensure staff assignments align with proper training and delegation. Conduct monthly meetings with team leads in each home. Ensure weekly reports are received, reviewed, and escalated to appropriate personnel (e.g., nurse, case manager). Track maintenance concerns and report them to the Director or maintenance staff. Maintain organized records of reports, inspections, and meeting notes. Ensure agency vehicles are cleaned and inspected daily by drivers and have sufficient fuel. Delegate assistants or transportation staff to support inspections, fueling, maintenance, and repairs. Assist the Group Home Office Manager as requested with maintaining individual records, inspection books, communication logs, fire drill records, and other documentation. Review and approve staff timesheets bi-weekly for payroll and monitor/report overtime each pay period. Remain on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with flexibility in scheduling.
INDIVIDUAL NEEDS
Oversee staff to ensure individuals receive proper daily hygiene care, including bathing/showering, hair care, deodorant, oral hygiene, shaving as needed, and dressing in clean, appropriate clothing. Oversee staff to confirm individuals' fingernails and toenails are trimmed and properly maintained. Ensure adequate hygiene supplies are available at all times, maintaining at least a 72-hour supply. Team leads must report shortages. Oversee assistants to ensure supplies are delivered. Ensure individuals have sufficient personal care supplies (e.g., pull-ups, diapers, wipes) with at least a 72-hour supply. Team leads should monitor and report inventory. Verify individuals are picked up from school, work, or day programs when ill or requiring early return home.
MEALS/GROCERIES
Ensure the home maintains at least a 72-hour supply of food at all times. Immediately notify the Group Home Director of any issues related to food availability. HOME Ensure cleanliness of home Review chore list and ensure tasks are being completed as directed and scheduled. Ensure that each Direct Care Worker has read and initialed each entry in the Communication Log. Inventory all linen and household items monthly and report needs to Group Home Director. This inventory list should come through the team lead.. Notify Group Home Director and group home maintenance of any necessary home repairs.
IN-SERVICE TRAINING/MEETINGS
Participate in required training programs, and house meetings as scheduled.
INCIDENT/ACCIDENT
Report all personnel injuries to the Human Resource Director regardless of how minor the occurrence. Follow all procedures and protocols with regard to staff injuries through the triage program. Ensure an employee injury report is completed for the occurrence at the end of the work shift. Report any individual accident or incident immediately to the Nurse, Case Manager, and Group Home Director. Document accordingly. All incident/injury reports must be brought to the office within 24 hrs. Report or assist staff to report all incidents of abuse, neglect, or exploitation to Adult Protective Services' 800 number, Case Manager, Nurse, and Group Home Director. Immediately report known or alleged incidents of harassment to the Human Resource Director. Ensure Individual significant incidents and occurrences are being recorded. Incident/Accident reports are filled out as needed and trains in the event of inadequacies. Responds to calls as soon as possible. Ensure the Communication Log is readily available. Personally, notify the Group Home Director in advance if you will not be able to work Be knowledgeable of the agency's general disaster and fire plans and your assigned duties Performs other duties as assigned. Supervises the Direct Care Staff under direction of the Group Home Director. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Have knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to individuals with IDD. Must have a Texas valid driver's license and must continuously maintain a good driving record. Minimum:
A high school diploma with a minimum of two years full-time experience in the human service field and with individuals with disabilities. Employee must not possess a criminal record. Ability to read, write and interpret all training materials. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. Ability to make mature judgments and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, individuals and the public.
