Job Description
Draftsman/Detailer Zip Kit Homes designs and fabricates panelized & Modular residential building systems. We're not a traditional builder — we operate at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and field execution. Our focus is speed, precision, and scalable production.

Position Overview We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Draftsman with residential construction experience to produce permit-ready construction documents and panel fabrication drawings.
This role sits directly inside operations. Your drawings drive production efficiency, install timelines, and field performance. Precision matters.
You will translate architectural and structural intent into accurate, buildable panel sets that integrate seamlessly with manufacturing and site conditions. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed construction drawings for panelized residential projects Develop framing layouts, panel elevations, sections, and connection details Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and internal production teams Prepare permit sets and revisions based on jurisdictional feedback Review redlines and manage drawing updates efficiently Ensure drawings align with manufacturing tolerances and install sequencing Maintain organized drawing standards and file structure Identify constructability issues before production release Required Qualifications 3+ years of residential drafting experience Proficiency in AutoCAD Experience with Revit required Strong understanding of residential framing and structural systems Familiarity with IRC and local code requirements Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience Panelized or modular construction experience Manufacturing-driven construction workflows Value engineering and material optimization Coordination across production, field, and design teams What Success Looks Like Clean, accurate drawing sets released on schedule Minimal field revisions due to drafting errors Efficient material utilization and reduced waste Strong coordination between design, production, and install crews Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based growth opportunities How to Apply Submit your resume and portfolio (if available) to: Kelsey@zipkithomes.com Subject line: Draftsman Application - ZIP
