ASSISTANT SITE FOREMAN HOWMZ
  • Residential Home Construction Site Foreman 2IC | 5-10 yrs residential construction | Hands-on | Full-time, year-round About the role HOWMZ is hiring a senior Assistant Site Foreman
  • the Site Foreman's 2IC. You run the site when the Foreman is off, lead trades day-to-day, and own quality and schedule alongside them. This is not a clipboard role: you are in tools every day, leading from the front. You also work the job before the job starts
  • reviewing plans, catching coordination issues, and shaping the build sequence in pre-construction. What you'll do
  • Pre-construction
  • review plans with Foreman/PM, flag constructability issues before they hit the field, shape sequencing and site logistics
  • Hands-on field work
  • in tools daily; framing, blocking, install, finish as the build demands; set the standard by example
  • Site leadership
  • run the site in the Foreman's absence; coordinate trades; lead daily huddles; make field decisions on sequencing and scope
  • Plans and layout
  • read architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and site plans fluently; translate them to field execution; catch drawing conflicts in real time
  • Schedule and QC
  • drive the build to schedule; walk every stage; close out punch lists before hand-off
  • Safety, materials, comms
  • own daily site safety; verify deliveries against BOM; daily debrief with Foreman and PM; maintain logs and RFIs You must have
  • 5-10 years residential construction, including demonstrated pre-construction experience
  • Expert plan and blueprint reading
  • architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and site plans
  • Genuinely hands-on
  • a skilled tradesperson, not a clipboard supervisor
  • 2+ years leading crews; comfortable making field decisions and standing behind them
  • Solid grasp of local building code for single-family residential
  • Valid driver license; First Aid / CPR (or willing to obtain within 30 days) Nice to have Carpentry Red Seal / journeyman ticket | Fall Protection, WHMIS, scaffold, confined-space tickets | custom or high-spec residential experience | take-off experience | comfort with digital site tools (punch list apps, BOMs, plan viewers) How to apply Send your resume and a short note about a project you are proud of to careers@howmz.
