This role is vital in ensuring that all site activities related to underground utilities, excavation, grading, and soil management are executed efficiently, safely, and in strict compliance with project specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive management style, exceptional technical knowledge, and a passion for delivering quality results on time and within budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate complex construction activities while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence. Responsibilities Lead the planning, coordination, and supervision of utility installation and earthwork activities across multiple project sites. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and resource allocations using construction management software such as Primavera P6 or HeavyBid to ensure timely project delivery. Oversee daily site operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols including OSHA standards, while managing subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify accuracy before execution; utilize tools like Ohmmeter for quality control of electrical connections. Monitor project progress through site inspections, blueprint reading, and use of construction management software; adjust schedules as needed to meet project milestones. Manage project budgets by tracking costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors; implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations by reviewing contracts and change orders; maintain thorough documentation of all project activities. Conduct quality control checks to verify work meets design specifications; utilize Bluebeam for document review and markups. Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions; enforce OSHA regulations consistently. Facilitate effective communication among project teams through detailed reports, progress updates, and coordination meetings. Experience Proven experience in construction management with a focus on utility installation and earthwork projects; minimum of five years supervising heavy civil or infrastructure projects. Extensive knowledge of construction site operations including excavation techniques, pipeline installation (including pipelines), grading practices, schematics interpretation, and soil testing procedures. Strong familiarity with construction management software such as Primavera P6 or Primavera; experience with Bluebeam for document management is preferred. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; experience with construction estimating tools like HeavyBid is advantageous. Supervising experience managing diverse teams of field personnel; excellent management skills with the ability to motivate teams toward safety-conscious productivity. Knowledge of relevant safety standards including OSHA regulations; ability to enforce safety protocols effectively on-site. Skilled in using measurement tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical testing; capable of troubleshooting technical issues during installation processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in budgeting and scheduling.
