Lead Construction Coordinator Systems Planning Corporation Glen Allen, VA Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Report writing OSHA Outdoor work OSHA 10 High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Systems Planning Corporation (SPC), a subsidiary company of GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking qualified, motivated, and skilled Construction Inspectors / Coordinators (Senior Project Construction Technician 1) to provide quality assurance oversight and work performance and compliance services on transmission line and/or substation construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states. This is a contract position. Construction Inspector / Coordinator will oversee the activities associated with transmission line and substation site preparation and access road construction. Duties include general oversight of contractors performing the work, stormwater management, along with documentation of permitting requirements. Duties may also involve the oversight of contractors during the rehabilitation of transmission line work.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to hike moderate distances through unimproved terrain, utility rights-of-way, in remote areas, etc. Fieldwork will be conducted in variable weather and environmental conditions, often requiring long or irregular hours. Lift and/or move up to 40lbs. A commitment to safely performing job duties in these conditions is required.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 16 years of construction experience with either Transmission Line, Substation or Distribution expertise. Must have an excellent safety record and experience, including an up-to-date minimum OSHA 10 hour training. Must have knowledge of system switching and have ability for become qualified to client's clearances. Ability to maintain client's laptop computer and complete necessary reports and updates. A criminal background check may be required due to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) requirements. Must have a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states. General Characteristics Must be able to work with clients, coordinators and contractors; recognized as having advanced knowledge within a specialized technical area, well-rounded in aspects of consulting and the industry. Minimum Years of Experience 16+ Years of Experience Education H.S Graduate Certification/Licensure Driver's License Technical Responsibilities Responsibilities involve performing and overseeing field monitoring on various multisite/phase construction projects of moderate to large scale, scope, and/or complexity, including placement of concrete, earthwork, roadway paving, buildings, structures, foundations, and building materials. Generates and substantiates reports and documentation regarding construction, materials, integration, equipment, and operations. Project and Task Management Can Manage Tasks Management Responsibility Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Communication Skills Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills Integrates different forms of effective communication to technical and nontechnical audiences
