Job Description
General Superintendent - Hampton, VA $100,000-$150,000Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day‑to‑day field operations for heavy civil construction activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to maintain schedule and meet production goals.
Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to provide direction and resolve field‑level challenges.
Conduct daily safety, quality, and progress meetings, reinforcing project standards and requirements.
Monitor performance, track progress, and support accurate reporting for project leadership.
Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements on a high‑profile infrastructure project.
Qualifications5+ years of superintendent or foreman‑level experience in heavy civil construction (bridges, roadway, utilities, marine, or related scopes).Strong background coordinating field crews on complex, large‑scale civil projects.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Proven track record maintaining safety, schedule, and quality on fast‑paced projects.
Effective communicator capable of working with engineers, subcontractors, and project management teams.
Experience on DOT, tunnel, or major infrastructure projects preferred.
