$100,000•$150,000 Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial ground-up construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a proven track record delivering ground-up commercial or industrial builds and is comfortable managing projects ranging from mid-size developments to large, complex construction efforts. This individual will play a critical role in driving project success while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring operational excellence in the field. Our client is a well-established, privately held general contractor known for its self-performing capabilities and hands-on approach . The company specializes in commercial and industrial ground-up construction , delivering high-quality projects through a strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction across the Virginia market. Key Responsibilities Manage commercial and industrial ground-up construction projects from preconstruction through completion Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and ownership teams Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls Oversee field execution to ensure alignment with safety, quality, and production goals Review construction drawings and specifications for accuracy, scope alignment, and constructability Adapt to evolving project conditions, timelines, and change orders Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety programs, and regulatory requirements Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation using tools such as Procore Manage procurement and subcontractor buyout, including long-lead materials and scopes Monitor project progress, financial performance, and field productivity Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle Oversee project closeout to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction Qualifications 5+ years of experience in project management within commercial or industrial construction Strong experience delivering ground-up construction projects ($5M•50M range preferred) Proven ability to manage project financials, schedules, contracts, and field operations Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong understanding of safety requirements and OSHA compliance Preferred Experience with self-performing general contractors Background in commercial, industrial, multifamily, or hospitality construction Experience in fast-paced, field-driven environments Demonstrated success managing multiple projects or complex builds simultaneously Candidates that complete skills assessments and screening questions will receive priority consideration in the hiring process.
