In this role, you will be the boots-on-the-ground leader across our active job sites — responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of residential and commercial construction projects. You will serve as the critical link between the field and the office, ensuring that crews, subcontractors, schedules, and materials are all moving in the right direction. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership instincts, deep construction knowledge, sharp organizational skills, and a commitment to doing things the right way. B&G Construction is a locally owned small business serving the residential and commercial needs of Northern Virginia. We have a Virginia Class A Contractor license. 571.292.1800 Email us at: bgconstruction@bgconstructionllc.com Key Responsibilities Field Operations & Site Management Lead and oversee day-to-day field operations across multiple active job sites simultaneously Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, local building codes, and contract requirements Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress, identify issues early, and maintain high standards of workmanship Manage site logistics including material staging, equipment positioning, and access coordination Maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site at all times, protecting company assets and client property Scheduling & Coordination Develop and manage detailed field schedules, coordinating crews, subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries to keep projects on track Anticipate scheduling conflicts or resource gaps and proactively communicate adjustments to the project management team Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Operations Manager to align field activities with overall project milestones Verify subcontractor scopes, performance, and completion of assigned work before sign-off Safety & Compliance Champion a safety-first culture on every job site — lead by example and hold all team members accountable to safe work practices Enforce OSHA standards and all company safety policies; conduct regular job site safety meetings and toolbox talks Identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately Ensure proper permitting, inspections, and code compliance throughout each project phase Quality Control Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure it meets B&G Construction's quality standards and client expectations Identify and address deficiencies or non-conforming work before they become larger issues Participate in punch list development and final project closeout, ensuring a smooth and complete handoff to the client Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate and thorough daily logs including site activity, crew hours, weather conditions, and notable events Capture and organize site photos to document progress, issues, and completed work Review and approve field timecards, equipment usage logs, and material receipts in a timely manner Provide regular progress updates to the project management team; flag risks, delays, or cost concerns immediately Client & Stakeholder Relations Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors Represent B&G Construction professionally at all times — communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and manage expectations proactively Respond to owner concerns or questions with transparency and a solutions-oriented mindset Cost & Efficiency Support project cost control by minimizing waste, tracking material usage, and identifying opportunities for efficiency in the field Communicate potential change order conditions to the project manager promptly and with supporting documentation Skills and Qualifications Leadership & Team Management Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold accountable field crews and subcontractors across multiple trades Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills — able to make sound decisions under pressure and in rapidly changing site conditions Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining oversight and ensuring accountability Leads by example with a positive, professional attitude that sets the tone for the entire job site Communication & Coordination Clear and confident verbal communicator — able to give direction, resolve disputes, and build rapport with crew, subs, clients, and inspectors Strong written communication skills for daily logs, safety documentation, and progress reports Comfortable representing the company directly with clients; professional in appearance and conduct Technical & Construction Knowledge Deep understanding of residential and commercial construction processes, sequencing, and methods across multiple trades Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with confidence Familiar with Virginia building codes, inspection requirements, and permit processes Proficiency with project management software (Buildertrend preferred) and standard office tools (Microsoft 365, email, document sharing) Comfortable using field technology including tablets, laser levels, and other measurement/documentation tools Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment or construction-related issues in the field Personal Qualities Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and moving parts without losing focus Adaptable and calm under pressure — able to pivot quickly in response to weather, supply delays, design changes, or other unforeseen conditions Detail-oriented with a genuine commitment to quality, safety, and doing the job right the first time High level of integrity, reliability, and personal accountability — you do what you say you're going to do Requirements 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent-level role 2+ years of construction scheduling experience (Preferred) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must be able to travel throughout Northern Virginia Ability to work on-site full time in all weather conditions typical to the Northern Virginia region Proficiency with computers and field technology Strong understanding of construction processes, procedures, and quality standards OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred Compensation & Schedule Pay TBD Job Type Full-Time Schedule Minimum 8-hour shifts, day shift Monday through Friday Some weekend work required based on project needs Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Work Location Northern Virginia — In-Person Pay:
