Position Overview We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee the execution side of our residential remodeling projects. This role is responsible for managing the production systems behind multiple active projects — including scheduling coordination, subcontractor management, quality control, field accountability, and operational execution. This is not a "clipboard superintendent" role and not a production-homebuilder environment. The right candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and capable of creating structure across complex custom projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams. Responsibilities Project Oversight Oversee multiple active residential remodeling projects simultaneously Coordinate project execution from pre-construction through completion Monitor schedules, sequencing, and production flow Identify issues proactively before they impact schedule or quality Maintain accountability across field teams and subcontractors Field & Trade Coordination Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and field logistics Conduct regular site visits and quality control reviews Ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and company standards Assist in resolving field conditions and construction challenges Support lead carpenters with scheduling, documentation, and problem-solving Systems & Operations Improve operational consistency across projects Help refine scheduling, communication, and production systems Participate in weekly production planning meetings Track project progress and maintain organized documentation Contribute to long-term process improvement initiatives Client Experience Maintain professional communication with homeowners Help create a calm, organized client experience throughout construction Support the company's high-touch design-build process Participate in client meetings as needed What We Are Looking For Required Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Strong organizational and communication skills High level of personal accountability and follow-through Preferred Experience in high-end residential remodeling or custom homes Strong understanding of residential remodeling and renovation sequencing Design-build experience Ability to read plans, scopes of work, and construction documentation Experience coordinating subcontractors and schedules Experience with project management software and digital documentation systems Understanding of budgets, job costing, and change management Experience working in client-facing environments Traits That Tend to Succeed Here Calm under pressure Highly detail-oriented Strong sense of ownership Process-minded without becoming bureaucratic Comfortable making decisions Professional communicator Interested in building systems, not just managing tasks Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Paid time off Vehicle allowance or company vehicle potential Technology provided Long-term leadership growth opportunities Location This is an in-person role based in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area.
