Job Title:
Field Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a Field Project Manager to lead the planning and on-site execution of a major expansion at a composting facility in Waverly, VA. This role involves supporting final design development and transitioning into full construction oversight for expanded processing capacity, new infrastructure, and supporting environmental control systems. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and the project's General Contractor to ensure alignment with the project's scope, operational requirements, budget, and schedule expectations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable coordinating engineers, contractors, and communicating with operations staff while driving schedule, budget, and quality performance in an active industrial environment. Responsibilities Lead the planning and on-site execution of facility expansion projects. Support final design development and oversee construction for new infrastructure and environmental control systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the General Contractor to ensure project alignment with scope, budget, and schedule expectations. Coordinate engineers, contractors, and operations staff to ensure efficient project execution. Drive schedule, budget, and quality performance in an active industrial environment. Provide consistent on-site leadership throughout the construction phase. Essential Skills 7-10+ years of experience in industrial construction, heavy civil, or process facility project management. Experience working on large-scale site development or industrial expansion projects. Prior experience working alongside or overseeing a General Contractor in an owner's representative or field leadership role. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, grading, utilities, stormwater systems, and structural concrete. Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and mechanical drawings. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, and contractor communication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience managing projects within active industrial or environmental facilities is preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate between engineers, contractors, and operations staff. Work Environment This is a hands-on, site-based position requiring consistent on-site leadership throughout the construction phase. The role demands active engagement in an industrial environment, ensuring that all project aspects align with the operational demands and standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Waverly, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
