Job Description
Join our camp team this summer! We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join as a supervisor of our adaptive summer camp. Our adaptive students are age 3-adult and have a variety of cognitive and physical disabilities. The Adaptive Supervisor must be willing to work with a variety of abilities, ages, and support needs. We are looking for someone who is organized, safety-driven, and is motivated to create an inclusive atmosphere. You'll help plan staff training, provide ongoing support and supervision to our campers and camp staff, and communicate with families and vendors. Our campers love to get out and swim, hike, get crafty, and enjoy being part of the Smuggs community. This is a full time, seasonal position. All pre-season training is mandatory. The job runs from May 11-September 11. Pay range is $19-21 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Duties include:
Oversight of day to day program operations and supporting staff on the job Interact with parents, campers and peers while working as part of the team with other supervisors, counselors and instructors Assist the SNAP manager with administrative tasks including: scheduling, reservations, program development and employee documentation/support Support and implement program offerings in collaboration with other departments and vendors Monitor safety of all activities Provide direct services to program participants as needed Support the supervision of other SSU/SFU programs as needed Reports directly to theSNAP Program Manager/SFU Directors Qualifications:
Associates Degree or 1 to 2 years' experience in Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Outdoor Education, or related field Experience working with, advocating for, and empowering people with disabilities. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Leadership or supervisory experience Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Google Docs, Social Media)Similar remote jobs
