Purpose:
The Site Coordinator administrates and oversees the delivery of a dynamic, high-quality afterschool program to elementary students daily throughout the school year. The Site Coordinator collaborates with the program director, building principals, project facilitators, program assistants, teachers, volunteers, parents, and community partners to deliver a program that supports 21st century learning and the Common Core State Standards.
Starting Pay:
$25.00 per hour. 7 hours per day for 175 days during the school year; 8 hours per day for 25 days during the summer; 220 days total annually. On-site presence during program time (2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays during the school year; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays during summer) is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Be at least eighteen years of age
  • Possess a BA, BS, or Associate's degree
  • Have one of the following:  at least ten months of experience working with school-age children  Vermont On‐The‐Job Training certificate  Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential  Vermont Program Director Credential  Vermont Teacher Licensure  Master's Degree in a youth‐related field
  • Pass Vermont Agency of Education and Department of Children and Families background and fingerprint checks
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Strong administrative and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with children who have a wide range of behaviors, academic abilities, and extracurricular interests.
  • Knowledge of Project-Based Learning (PBL), PBiS, Common Core, Restorative Justice and Responsive Classroom preferred.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention (or consent to acquire these).
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Google platforms.
  • Familiarity with state and federal laws relating to education and child care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
  • Attend orientation, staff meetings, in-services, and professional development as required by the CVSU Afterschool Director. Updated 3.12.2026
  • Coordinate the hiring, training, support, and evaluation of Project Facilitator and Program Assistant staff members.
  • Recruit, interview, and train Volunteers to provide meaningful support to programs.
  • Manage all aspects of the student registration and enrollment process.
  • Maintain student and staff information databases.
  • Manage program communications via website, school bulletin boards, and local media outlets. Program Development and Delivery
  • Work with staff to develop dynamic program offerings that reflect student interests and create unique extended-school day learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate staff schedule and appropriate learning spaces for all programs.
  • Identify opportunities to engage community partners and resources in program offerings.
  • Manage inventory and purchases of program supplies.
  • Provide daily oversight and support to staff and students to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Lead enrichment programs as needed. Student and Family Support
  • Communicate with school counselors, classroom teachers, school nurses, and special educators to address student accommodations for IEPs, 504s, and other special plans.
  • Implement disciplinary action as needed and lead restorative conflict resolution between students.
  • Engage families in the afterschool experience and positive development of their children through special family events, workshops, and support meetings for students.
