Job Description

Assistant Project Manager (APM) - Heavy Civil Construction Position Overview We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of heavy civil and sitework construction projects. This role will work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to assist with project coordination, scheduling, subcontractor management, cost tracking, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working on heavy civil or site development projects involving earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete construction. Responsibilities Assist with the management of heavy civil and sitework construction projects from startup through closeout Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders Work closely with Superintendents and field personnel to support daily operations Track production quantities and maintain project documentation Participate in project meetings with clients, inspectors, and internal teams Help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget Support billing, procurement, and contract administration efforts Qualifications 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction or site development Experience with earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete work Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software Civil Engineering or Construction Management background preferred DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure experience is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Bonus opportunities Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match PTO and paid holidays Long-term growth opportunities with a growing heavy civil contractor Send resume to mitchell.guerrieri@gogpac.com for more information
